^ Brazil VS Holland - Patrick Kluivert pops up between the Brazilian centerbacks to head home the Dutch equalizer a minute from time in the semifinal. Extratime and penalties followed with Holland once again ending up on the losing side.
^ Taffarel saves the attempt from Phillip Cocu and Brazil have the advantage in the penalty shoot-out. Taffarel later saved from Ronald de Boer as well and Brazil could book yet another place in the World Cup final.
^ France VS Croatia - Lilian Thuram had never previously scored for France before he scored twice in the semifinal against Croatia. He looks as if he still can't believe it.
^ Zinedine Zidane with perfect control despite Croatia's Mario Stanic attempt of tackling him. Zizou was world class in the latter stages of the tournament.
^ Laurent Blanc was sent off for pushing Slaven Bilic in the penalty area before a corner. The referee read it as a knock in the face which Bilic made it look like when he fell to the ground as if Mike Tyson had slaughtered him.
